Cancer sufferer wants to inspire

Brain cancer sufferer wants to inspire others to not give up hope CHRISTINA PERSICOSIMON O'CONNOR/StuffOlivia Madgwick didn't think her clumsiness was due to a tumour until a slip and fall uncovered a brain stem tumour and fluid on the brain in 2015. Two years ago Olivia Madgwick had a lucky break when she hit her head and discovered she was just days away from a brain tumour killing her. She was immediately rushed to hospital for ground breaking treatment and is now in remission with plans to inspire others as a motivational speaker and children's author. Since September 2015 the New Plymouth 24-year-old has gone through 31 chemotherapies and four radiation treatments for a rare type of brain cancer, medulloblastoma, which resulted in a large tumour forming on her brain stem. She wants her story book (still a work in progress) to encourage kids to carry on, even if they are contemplating suicide.
