Valerie Jones had been diagnosed with breast cancer in March last yearA woman who went on holiday in Greece to celebrate a break in her cancer treatment died of alcohol poisoning after drinking wine all day, an inquest was told. Valerie Jones, 54, a therapist, started drinking on a morning sightseeing trip and collapsed shortly before 2am. She had over four times the UK legal drink-driving limit of alcohol in her blood. Mrs Jones, from Cattistock, Dorset, who had radiotherapy and surgery for breast cancer, was on the second day of a holiday on the island of Santorini with her husband Nigel, a company director. She started drinking in the morning, carried on at lunch and again over an evening meal, Bournemouth coroner’s court was told.
