After 67 years of its formation, Uttar Pradesh celebrated its first foundation day on Wednesday in the state capital Lucknow. The three-day ‘UP Diwas’ was inaugurated by the Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu who launched projects worth Rs 25,000 crore on the occasion. Earlier known as United Province, Uttar Pradesh was formed through a gazette notification on January 24 1950. “I suggest to withdraw all licensed weapons in the state and the crime graph would automatically come down in Uttar Pradesh. In next two to three years, our youth will not migrate for employment but people from other states would come to Uttar Pradesh to seek jobs,” claimed Yogi Adityanath.
