The Canadiens general manager was a busy guy, signing two of the team’s top prospects — forward Ryan Poehling and goalie Cayden Primeau — to three-year, NHL entry-level contracts. Both had been playing NCAA college hockey — Poehling with St. Poehling will join the Canadiens for the remainder of the NHL season, while Primeau will join the AHL’s Laval Rocket. The Canadiens selected the 6-foot-2, 200-pound Poehling in the first round (25th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft. Cloud State, Poehling had 29-46-75 totals.
