NEWARK, N.J. — The Canadiens made their first move on NHL trade-deadline day Monday when they sent centre Michael Chaput to the Arizona Coyotes just after 11 a.m. in exchange for Jordan Weal. The NHL trade deadline is at 3 p.m. Monday and the Canadiens play the Devils Monday night (7 p.m., TSN2, RDS, TSN 690 Radio). Weal won 59.7 per cent of his faceoffs with the Flyers and 49.1 per cent with the Coyotes. The Canadiens’ Brendan Gallagher knows Weal from their minor hockey days together while growing up in Vancouver. “I played against him growing up,” Gallagher said after the Canadiens’ morning skate.
