The Canadiens practised Friday morning in Brossard after their Christmas break and Joel Armia wasn’t on the ice. Armia, who suffered what the Canadiens said was an “upper-body injury” during Monday’s 6-2 win over the Jets in Winnipeg, is now listed as week-to-week with a hand injury. Julien said Paul Byron, who has been sidelined since having knee surgery on Nov. 19, is now also listed as week-to-week. Julien said the injury to Armia could mean more work for rookies Nick Suzuki and Ryan Poehling, especially on the penalty-killing units. Kotkaniemi missed seven games earlier in the season with a groin injury and the 19-year-old has 3-2-5 totals in 22 games.
