“It’s special,” Plekanec said after the Canadiens’ morning skate in Brossard. He played his first NHL game on Dec. 31, 2003 in Dallas when the Canadiens tied the Stars 1-1. When asked what he remembers about that first game, Plekanec said: “Nothing much. “Carey hasn’t skated in three days, so you don’t give him a morning skate and throw him in the lineup,” Julien said after the morning skate. The Red Wings rank eighth on the power play at 26.7 per cent and 14th in penalty-killing at 78.9 per cent.
