Both Mackenzie Hughes and Corey Conners talked after their second rounds in Tokyo about wanting to get more aggressive and play like they had nothing to lose. The Canadian pair executed that strategy to perfection in the third round of the Summer Olympics at Kasumigaseki Country Club. shot a 5-under 66 while Hughes, of Dundas, Ont., was one better, shooting a 6-under 65. Both first-time Olympians, Hughes and Conners each sit 7-under through 54 holes and are tied for 17th. Although both Canadians made significant climbs up the leaderboard in the third round, they’re seven shots back of the lead (held by American Xander Schauffele) and are five shots back of a medal position.
