QUEBEC CITY—It’s the biggest event in snowboarding every year and Mark McMorris has had plenty of history-making moments at the Aspen X Games. “Mark McMorris has never attempted that trick in his entire life,” he said. He wasn’t the only snowboarder to take a tumble in the big-air competition and, thankfully, he wasn’t injured by it. His brother Craig, a colour commentator for the event, hammers home how much that jump says about McMorris as a competitor, and freestyle snowboarding in general. “You would never know that he’s one of the world’s best, if not the best snowboarder, when you meet him,” Burwell said.
