HAMILTON – If you had to guess which Canadians were playing in the U.S. Open next week, Mike Weir’s name likely wouldn’t come to mind. The Canadian golf icon shot rounds of 67-69 to finish in a tie for fifth among the 102-player field. It’s Weir’s second U.S. Open appearance since 2010, and his first major outside Augusta since a T-28 at the 2013 U.S. Open. I’m not having any elbow pain and my back is good and I’m able to practise more because of it. It all adds up to some good stuff.”While Weir is excited to be returning to the U.S. Open, he said he’s not looking past the Canadian Open.
