LONG POND, PA.—Canadian rookie driver Robert Wickens went soaring into the fence at Pocono Raceway in a scary wreck that brought Sunday’s IndyCar race to a halt after eight laps. Wickens’ car made contact with Ryan Hunter-Reay and shot into a 360-degree spin into the fence. Curt Cavin, vice-president of communications for IndyCar, said on the TV broadcast that Wickens was “awake and alert.”what an awful crash. That caused Hunter-Reay’s car to careen into the wall and Wickens’ car was pulled along for the ride. Canadian driver Robert Wickens was involved in a massive crash in Sunday’s IndyCar race in Pocono and taken to hospital.
