The game ended when Maxim Noreau’s shootout attempt slipped off the post behind Czech goalie Pavel Francouz allowing the Czechs to win 2-1 in the penalty shot portion of the program. It was the second for the Czechs in just eight shots on Ben Scrivens, who got a second consecutive start in net for Canada. Though the game was entertaining throughout, it wasn’t exactly a smoothly played game by either team with extended periods of puck possession at a minimum.
