Canada international Alphonso Davies suffered a fresh injury during Bayern Munich’s 3-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, but manager Vincent Kompany is hopeful that “it doesn’t look so bad”. Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen accused Canada Soccer of being “grossly negligent” in its handling of Davies’ injury. The concern is therefore that another muscle injury could make being at his best for the World Cup difficult. Any muscle injury could hurt how well he continues to perform both for Bayern and Canada. But because of injury, Davies has not yet made a consistent impact for Marsch as hoped.
