Canada Post Corp. said late Monday it had issued a 72-hour notice to its workers’ union due to a steep drop-off in volumes amid the threat of a service disruption as negotiations to reach a new labor deal hit a standstill. Canada’s mail service could come to a standstill on Friday after the country’s government-owned postal agency issued a lockout notice to its 50,000 unionized workers following a breakdown in labor talks.
