Viewers have been split over whether automated crowd noise adds or subtracts to the experience of watching a behind-closed-doors match. Whilst some prefer watching a game with canned crowd noise, Wednesday’s Premier League return on Sky Sports saw many utilising the option to watch the game without artificial reactions. This is not the case for the BBC’s live matches, which will offer viewers the chance to mute the noise via the red button. The BBC’s first live match, which is expected to be the most-watched match in Premier League history due to its wide availability, is Saturday’s game between Bournemouth and Crystal Palace. The BBC’s final live match is yet to be announced.
