Can-do attitude for Women's RefugeBRADEN FASTIER Womens Refuge manager Katie O'Donnell(left) and Shine owner Jo Menary promote a charity fashion event, in which you can donate cans of food to Shine in Nelson. A fashion show with a difference isn't asking attendees to empty their pockets, it wants them to lighten their cupboards. A can-do approach to fundraising had Shine owner, Jo Menary sending invites to the event on September 13 with an admittance fee of three cans of food for the Women's & Children's Refuge Services Nelson. The Women's and Children's Refuge provides a safe haven for women in the community offering advice, shelter and basic needs. Refuge manager Katie O'Donnell said having a full pantry was "vital".
