To comprehend the current media landscape, three recurring trends must be addressed, as they could further complicate the quality of the Thai media. First of all, the proliferation of social media platforms has been a phenomenon in this country. This has led to a new trend with incomplete sets of information on issues being put out on popular social media media. Secondly, the mainstream media these days relies too much on information and audio-visual clips from social media. Unknowingly, the main stream media are rubber-stamping news and information from social media even though this often contains misinformation or fake news.
