Can Social Entrepreneurs Create A New City Of Palestinian Opportunity?


In Rawabi in the West Bank, Arab and Western social entrepreneurs are taking aim at one of the Middle East’s most intractable problems: Palestinian economic development and opportunity. This week, 50 participants of the Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit EMEA traveled from Jerusalem to Rawabi, a Palestinian city-in-the-making one hour’s drive north of the Israeli capital. Uyen CaoUnder construction for the past five years, it is a futuristic city of high-rises and high tech, eco-friendly amenities built for 25,000 residents. It was an opportunity to exchange ideas, solve problems and create partnerships. Three Under 30 founders also presented: Carla Brown of Game Dr. (U.K.), Alise Semjonova of Infogram (Latvia) and Mariano Kostelec of Uniplaces (Portugal).
