Can LA’s Cinerama Dome Be Saved? The City Weighs In

Fortunately however, there is not only still hope for LA’s beloved movie house, but there are protections already in place that would at least delay any plans of demolishment of the Cinerama Dome from happening anytime soon. “We already got the building designated in 1998 and so, that building is protected,” says Linda Dishman, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Conservancy in a new conversation with Forbes. Constructed in 1963, the Cinerama Dome has been a staple within the LA community, as well as a cherished venue for many moviegoers and popular movie premieres for several decades. As optimistic as these latest developments sound, this will most likely be more of a marathon than a sprint for the hopeful future of the Cinerama Dome.
