Contemporary political elites playing victimhood as the means to their end is not new in world politics. For instance, the old Marxist political elites’ victimhood as means to their end would have brought liberty for the ‘masses’ of Ethiopia. Likewise, liberation political elites’ victimhood as means to their end would have brought freedom and liberty for the people of Eritrea. In that regard, the tribal political elites’ latest ploy to put the last nail in the coffin of democratic reform is gender and age. Ever since Prime Minster Abiy reform declared the ethnic political elites’ victimhood as-a-means-to-an-end is a backward and corrupt political philosophy everything broke loss.
