I read the recent letters to the editor about campus protests (“Comparing antiwar protests 60 years apart,” May 16). I just wish both sides would engage in a some badly needed intellectual honesty. Any time one of them speaks publicly, you can count on hearing the word “but” in the first sentence. Next, protesters who grew up in Roland Park or Scarsdale might stop wearing the keffiyeh. Is it because as recently as a month ago, campus protests and counter-protests hadn’t yet become trendy?
