PUTRAJAYA: Polling for the Cameron Highlands parliamentary seat will be held on Saturday, Jan 26, with nomination day on Jan 12 and early voting set for Jan 22. On Nov 30, the Election Court declared Barisan Nasional’s win in the Cameron Highlands parliamentary seat at the 14th General Election null and void. Later on Dec 13, the High Court nullified the GE14 result for the Cameron Highlands seat under Section 36 (2) (a) of the Election Offences Act 1954. The Cameron Highlands by-election is the fifth to be called after the 14th General Election in May. The Cameron Highland seat is the first BN seat to be contested after GE14.
