After England had been bowled out for 302 in their first innings, Bancroft walked out with David Warner to face Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad. It has been confirmed in public investigations that Warner asked Bancroft to rough up the ball by using sandpaper. It doesn’t condone, whatsoever, the mistake I made but in terms of all I’ve learned about myself and life, I’m almost grateful for the mistake in a way.
