Watching Kirsten Johnson's autobiographical film, Cameraperson, you get a strong sense of the improvisatory tension that vibrates in a film crew dealing with un-choreographable reality. Having seen a few of these, I've developed a set of criteria for what one could call 'Cameranama' films. There are traps that cinematographers all too often fall into when making their Cameranama films. Not every Cameranama film falls into these traps. This, if nothing else, is the one lesson to keep firmly in mind for any future Cameranama film.
