International racer Chris van der Drift is lending knowledge and experience to the Toyota 86 Championship's youngest competitor, Connor Davison. Cambridge teen Connor Davison is about to create history at the Pukekohe Race Track. When the 13 year old lines up on the starting grid in November, he will become the youngest driver to compete in the history of the Toyota 86 Championship. Connor's abilities and modest outlook have attracted significant backing from Hampton Downs, Highlands Motorsport Park, Kea Trailers, Helmart Helmet Design and Advantage Tyres. The Toyota 86 Championship season begins at the Supercars Championship event at Pukekohe Park in November before joining the Speed Works Motorsport NZ Championship for round two on Pukekohe's original short course configuration.
