A Cambodian court sentenced an Australian filmmaker to six years in prison for espionage Friday in a case that has worsened ties with Western countries worried about a continuing shift toward authoritarian rule. James Ricketson, a 69-year-old journalist and documentary maker, was arrested in June 2017 for flying a drone over a political rally. He has been in jail ever since and might not be freed until he is 75 after a three-judge panel convicted him in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh.
