A councillor has called for 'drastic action' over the amount of money Louth County Council was repaying on land loans. I would love to see the cessation of repaying these loans, even for a period of time.' CEO Joan Martin agreed the land loans were a struggle'We talk every year at the budget about the impact on our spending.' Ms Martin said the council has managed to maintain the loans 'and to keep our head above water.' 'I'm not sure refusing to pay the loans is going to be the solution, tempting as it might be.'
