Besides relishing the beauty of the ripened grape, why is harvest season a special time for winemakers? We’re lucky to live in California, where we have beautiful sunshine for the majority of the growing season. In general, our wines are quite a bit lower in alcohol compared to typical California wines, with our alcohol percentages in the low 12% ABV. I would be remiss not to mention fires as an obvious peril of making wine in California.
