CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Ethiopian community of Calgary is protesting the deterioration of human rights in the Oromia, regional state of the country. The situation in Ethiopia has worsened since the killing of a prominent Oromo singer-songwriter in June. Chairperson for the Oromo-Canadian Community Association of Alberta, Mohamed Abazinab, said the torturing and killing of people overseas are affecting those living in Calgary.
