Calgary family continues to grieve loss of father in Ethiopian Airlines crash

The bereaved family of Derick Lwugi, the only known Calgarian killed in the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash nearly two months ago, is not joining any of the current lawsuits against Boeing for the 737 Max 8 crash, but haven’t ruled out legal action indefinitely. All 157 people on board were killed when the Boeing aircraft crashed en route from Addis Ababa to Nairobi on March 10. “It’s really important to know how your loved one died.”Her family visited the crash site at the end of March. She said finding justice, and closure, is nearly impossible and she can’t imagine the grief weighing on people who lost multiple family members in the incident. “We offer our deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of those on board Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302,” spokesman Paul R. Bergman said in a statement.
