Cairo to host 12th World Urban Forum next year – The North Africa Post


Egyptian capital Cairo will host in November 2024 the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF), the world’s largest event to address urban development challenges. The event hosting-related agreement was signed by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, WUF said in a statement. “We are proud to be hosting the twelfth session of the World Urban Forum in Cairo in 2024. The World Urban Forum (WUF) was established in 2001 by the United Nations to address one of the most pressing issues facing the world: rapid urbanization and its impact on people, cities, economies, climate change and policies. Held every two years, the session is designed as a high-level, open and inclusive platform for addressing the challenges of sustainable urbanization.
