(Photo by Sunthon Pongpao)AYUTTHAYA -- A total of 420 rounds of M-16 ammunition were found buried on the bank of a canal in tambon Khlong Noi of Ban Phraek district by local residents on Monday morning. The discovery was reported to Ban Phraek police by Decho Khlaimee, the kamnan of tambon Khlong Noi. Mr Panya said the ammunition was probably buried during a crackdown on war weapons by people who feared being caught with it illegally in their possession. Panya Chaiheng, the district chief, led soldiers from the 23rd Cavalry Battalion to the canalside where the plastic bag containing the ammunition was found buried.
