Madurangi won the first two sets 11-9 and 11-7 before Hursey bounced back to equalize with back-to-back wins in the following two sets 11-7 and 12-10. In the decider set Madurangi made use of her experience to record a thrilling 11-7 win and claim the match. In the first Singles game of the match Charlotte Carey beat Erandi Warusawithana 3-0 -- 11-4, 11-6 and 11-7. In the third duel Welsh paddlers Chloe Thomas and Anna Hursey beat Ishara Madurangi and Hansani Kapugeekiyana 3-0 with set scores of 11-8, 11-9 and 11-6.
