CUH gets €800k to help alleviate trolley crisisCORK University Hospital has been allocated €800,000 by the HSE to implement a number of measures to ease the trolley crisis over the winter period, it has been revealed. The plan seeks primarily to support older people and their transition from the acute setting and to support acute and community operations. The group tasked with compiling a winter plan for CUH more than a month ago will meet three times a week over the winter period, Dr O’Connor revealed. The HSE plan, which focuses on a four-week period from 17 December to 13 January, includes plans for 75 additional Acute Beds, 66 additional Community Beds and four additional Rehabilitation Beds.
