A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at a Scarborough high school after 13 students tested positive at Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Insitute. Seven staff and 69 students were asked to self-isolate as a precaution, Toronto District School Board spokesperson Ryan Bird told the Star on Monday. “We take our lead from Toronto Public Health, which does not currently believe a closure is necessary,” Bird said in an email. There are 683 schools with a reported case, which the province notes is 14.15 per cent of the 4,828 public schools in Ontario.
