COVID-19 in Egypt: 1,149 new cases, 45 deaths on Monday


Egypt’s Health Ministry on Monday confirmed 1,149 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 254,984 ministry. The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 14,766 nationwide, after the ministry announced 45 deaths. And 768 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising Egypt’s total number of fully-recovered cases to 187,446. Doctors and officials have warned the public to abide by coronavirus precautionary measures, stating that social distancing is just as important as wearing a mask. Egypt is currently using China’s Sinopharm vaccine and the UK’s AstraOxford vaccine, but will soon locally manufacture China’s Sinovac vaccine and Russia’s Sputnik-V.
