The Tripura government on Monday announced the closure of all educational institutions in an attempt to stem the spread of COVID-19. Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced the decision at a press conference. He said the closure would remain effective from March 17 to 31. Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar said later that cinema halls, gymnasiums and swimming pools would also be closed. “Hostels attached to the educational institutions will get vacated from March 21 and remain locked till March 31”, he said at a press meet.
