Several months after the Asaba international airport was shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic which paralysed business and socio-economic activities across the globe, it is now set to resume flight operations in a few days. No fewer than six airlines, including Ibom Air, Azman and Arik Air, would be on the Asaba route as the facility is fully booked the ready. Secretary to Delta State Government, Barr Chiedu Ebie, gave the hint while inspecting the airport on Thursday ahead of the resumption of the aviation operation. He explained that the inspection was to ascertain the level of preparation on the part of the management of the airport for the full resumption of flight operations in the airport.
