Banjongjitt Angsusingh, commerce spokesman, said ministry staff were reviewing its policy plan for the fiscal year 2018 with the final proposal due for Commerce Ministry approval in November and Bureau of Budget approval in December. According to an anonymous source at the ministry, the budget plan would be in compliance with 27 national strategies. The ministry plays a formal role in 11 strategies, including development of potential industries, agricultural production, community operators and SMEs, special economic zones, Eastern Economic Corridor, logistics and transportation, economic and digital economy, and science, technology, research and innovation.
