CNN rising star Kaitlan Collins, the 31-year-old co-host of “CNN This Morning,” was handed the 9 p.m. primetime slot once held by disgraced anchor Chris Cuomo, network boss Chris Licht said Wednesday. Collins, the moderator of CNN’s much-criticized town hall with former President Donald Trump last week, had been rumored to be the front-runner for the prized nightly anchor chair. “I’m excited to announce that starting this summer, Kaitlan Collins will move from “CNN This Morning” to join me in prime time at 9 p.m. after ‘AC300,'” Cooper said. Collins, the moderator of CNN’s much-criticized town hall with former President Donald Trump last week, had been rumored to be the front-runner for the prized nightly anchor chair. Chris Licht announced Collins’ move to primetime after the slot had been left open since late 2021.
