TACOMA 6/25/2024 – CNN has just released its list of "America’s Best Towns to Visit in 2024” and Tacoma came in at #3 among nine other cities across the country. Seattle didn’t even make the list, which is a nice change that Tacoma is being featured in its own glory and not just as "that other city” in Seattle’s shadow. A story posted at CNN.com headlined "The dazzling sides of ‘Grit City’” says the ranking is due to "a stunning setting, glittering glass art and a range of outdoor activities" along with Tacoma's smaller size and slower pace. The story states: "Sitting at a patio table with water and mountain views on a bluebird-sky Northwest day will easily convince you that few better corners of our world exist.
