Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday visited the project site of the Room for the River programme in the Netherlands which allows for periodic inundation of land as a flood control strategy. The Chief Minister and his delegation held discussions with senior Dutch officials and experts in agriculture, environment and food sectors. Indian Ambassador to the Netherlands Venu Rajamani, Chief Secretary Tom Jose, and Additional Chief Secretary Biswas Mehta were among those who accompanied Mr. Vijayan. The Chief Secretary handed over a letter of intent for collaboration to M.L. The Chief Minister also had an opportunity to view maps and heritage documents relating to the the Dutch presence in Kerala in the 17th century.
