SHEIKHUPURA: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday suspended a doctor who asked a patient’s family members to bring medicines from outside the hospital due to non-availability of free medicines at the health facility. During a surprise visit to the DHQ Sheikhupura, he inquired from the patients about the medical facilities and provision of free medicines. Upon receiving a complaint, the chief minister directed the authorities concerned to suspend trauma centre’s Dr Muzammil and sought a detailed report on the provision of free medicines to patients. He said a permanent chief executive officer health would be appointed in the area within the next 24 hours. CM Buzdar also visited Hiran Minar without any protocol and interacted with people.
