A MURCIA school has moved its classes to the beach in a truly COVID-safe environment. The Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente school has taken desks and chairs to Playa de los Nietos on the Mar Menor as part of a ‘Clean Air’ initiative across Murcia. Around 100 youngsters, in eight age groups between 3 and 12 years, then get a 20 minute lesson on the beach, weather permitting. Mar Menor fishermen have shown the youngsters how they catch fish in their nets and a local group dressed up as Roman soldiers for a history lesson. The impact is clear as nine-year-old Antonio Fernandez explained: “I prefer to be on the beach as I feel more at ease and comfortable!”.
