MANILA, Philippines — Countries that were only able to get a slim victory on their call for the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to review the Philippines’ drug war campaign should not intervene in the country’s affairs, Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin said yesterday. Bersamin, at the launching of the SC App, said while he has limited information on the issue of the Iceland resolution that prompted the UNHRC to look into the bloody drug war, he is siding with the argument earlier raised by presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo. “It seems that (Panelo) is correct because it is just a minority resolution,” said Bersamin. CHR spokesperson Jacqueline de Guia said the investigations started in 2016 and are being pursued by the commission. Her agency, unfortunately, has yet to be given the case folders by police.
