NEW DELHI: The cybercrime units of Delhi Police and Central Industrial Security Force are on their toes: several CISF personnel have lost their salaries to hackers who managed to take control of either their salary account or their debit cards, sources told TOI.The salary was credited into the accounts by the CISF on July 31 and was withdrawn through multiple ATM transactions immediately, a source said. The exact number of affected personnel could not be ascertained as cops remained tight-lipped .Cops suspect this could be a case of ATM card cloning . Police claim to be investigating the case on high priority and are trying to trace the culprits using transaction details and CCTV footage of the ATMs which were used to withdraw the money .However, no arrests have been made till now. Cops say at least 6-7 of the reported cases pertaining to card fraud are linked to cloning.Recently , an employee of a restaurant in Connaught Place was held for cloning cards of customers. According to investigators, once the card is swiped onto the skimmer, it records details like card number, name and CVV number.
