Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, district administration Additional Deputy Commissioner Shafiqul Islam said: “The CID team is here to collect DNA samples from the relatives, to perform cross-matching with Chawkbazar fire victims who are still unidentified. Also Read- Fire strikes Old Dhaka again: 67 killed in Chawkbazar inferno“After identifying these bodies, those will be handed over to their relatives,” he furthered. Shafiqul added that around 1pm, the CID took DNA sample from 13 people, and the administration is working here to provide necessary support. Chawakbazar fire incident has claimed the lives of 67.
