The accused defrauded Tk90,50,000 from the victims through different mobile banking channels in the name of providing jobs in different banks as junior/senior officers. During primary interrogation, CID officials came to know that Poritosh’s wife used to introduce herself as the wife of the managing director of a private bank. Then she arranged fake interviews for the victims and assured them of getting the job in exchange for money, said the CID official. Later on March 7, one of the victims filed a case with Motijheel police station, and on March 10, the case was handed over to the CID, said Add SP Faruk. The arrestees primarily admitted to their involvement, he said, adding that drives were ongoing to arrest the other members of the gang.
