The owners of CHSLD Herron, one of the province's hardest-hit long-term care homes during the first wave of the pandemic, won't face criminal charges. In all, between March 26 and April 16, at least 38 deaths at Herron were confirmed by the coroner's office. Flowers are shown outside CHSLD Herron, where dozens of people died in the spring of 2020. Di Biase said Thursday she is disappointed by the prosecution's decision. At a news conference, Premier François Legault said what happened at Herron is "totally unacceptable" but that the decision regarding criminal charges was out of his control.
