In making the comparison, Sen. Richard Gordon on Monday questioned the apparent silence in the last 10 years on the killings pulled off by these gunmen against judges, policemen and even journalists. Gordon noted that judges, lawyers and policemen have become easy targets for the motorcycle-riding assassins but, he said, there seems to be no reaction from the commission. The senator cited records showing that at least 58 journalists and 19 judges have been killed by these assassins since 1986. Gordon, however, clarified that he does not condone statement of the President threatening to kill drug traffickers and other criminals. According to the CHR, it is investigating 103 cases of extrajudicial killings linked to the government’s war on drugs.
